Chobham Manor was the first Olympic legacy neighbourhood to be developed in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The emphasis on landscape and open space encourages residents to socialise, walk or cycle, naturally enhancing physical and mental wellbeing. Front gardens animate the streetscape while shared communal spaces offer shrubs, herbs for foraging, multi-stem trees and areas of raised beds for growing food. Three generous linear green spaces form the spine of the development. These are linked to a network of tree-lined streets, underpinned by biodiversity and a focus on family-friendly play areas and places for people to gather, rest and socialise.

The design enables all residents to have easy access to the main open spaces, with homes overlooking streets and each with a generous private amenity space or garden. The close proximity, easy access and viewpoints help to generate a safer community and a feeling that the open spaces ‘belong’ to all residents in an equitable and inclusive way.
