SG1, is the transformative regeneration covering 14.5 acres of Stevenage town centre and will introduce 11 new buildings including residential, leisure, community, commercial and retail facilities. The residential designs include 226 build-to-rent homes. With a focus on inclusivity, environmental sustainability and wellbeing, SG1 will create attractive new streets, squares and public realm and improve pedestrian and cycle connections across the town.

The build-to-rent scheme includes ground and first floor communal area, podium level external amenity and communal rooftop terraces with commercial activity on the ground floor. The plans have been carefully developed so as not to interfere with key views and to ensure the building makes a positive contribution to the neighbourhood. The residential units are designed to the highest standards and reference the modernist new town heritage of Stevenage.

The approved hybrid application comprises approximately 140,000 sqm of new mixed-use development including ground floor retail and commercial space to attract an improved cafe and restaurant offer to the town; a diverse array of new public open space; a new 9,500 sqm public services hub; a primary school and 1,864 new homes.
